I am trying to set up my wordpress.org website. I want to be able to utilize all the great widgets. However, when I dowloaded the reverbnation wordpress.org plugin and posted the shortcode into the post (for a show schedule widget) nothing happened. It just shows the shortcode. I tried it several times to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated!!!?
EMPLOYEE0The only Wordpress plugin that I am aware of is a user-made plugin that we can't support. There are users out there that have had success with the plugin, but unfortunately, as a company, we can't support it.
If you do decide to try to make the plugin work, and you figure it out, please let us know!
Your website encouraged me to download the plug in....but you don't support it? I am confused.
This is what it tells you to do when get the short code for a widget on 'reverbnation's' dashboard.
Install this on your self-hosted Wordpress.org blog in 2 EASY ways:
1 - Install the ReverbNation Widgets Plugin from the plugin page, then copy and paste this shortcode in your post [reverbnation widget=pro_video artist_id=1031424 bgcolor=EEEEEE bordercolor=000000 skin_id=PWVS2008 width=262 height=200] fontcolor=333333
2 - Copy the embed code below and paste it into the appropriate post
The way it's written makes me think that it's super easy and no big deal. What am I missing?
Actually, Zack, you DID create it.

To answer Scott's question, the shortcode was being generated improperly. Move the closing bracket to the end of the shortcode.
Instead of ending with:
... it should end with
The plugin has been updated to ver. 2 and the Reverbnation Developers made a MAJOR change to the way these shortcodes were generated.
So major that it breaks all previous shortcodes if you upgrade the plugin (which it seems you have to do).
