Posting Local chart position on RPKs
I just started my free trial on the RPK. I like how it posts ur stats, however...my global rank is 6000-something, but my local rank is 10. I would like to post that in my RPK if possible. Or is there a way I can do that and im just overlooking it??

I think we all agree that Chris the Poet's suggestion is excellent.
However, here we are 9 months later and . . . .zilch, nada, nothing, no ACTION! Not even a few words to let us know if there is progress!
Technology is advancing quicker than we can keep up with - and it takes RN more than 9 months to take on board an excellent idea - and furthermore - you cannot be bothered to keep members in the loop communications-wise.
Would it be impolite to ask . . .
1. What steps have been taken to implement this idea?
2. What's holding up it's implementation?
3. Why has it taken so long?
4. When do you reckon it will be implemented....if ever?
5. If not.....why not?
All valid questions I think you will agree - I await your reply with bated breath!

The ability to show your LOCAL rating is absolutely VITAL to those of us outside the U.S.
Local promoters & venues here in Europe and here in Ireland in particular do not give a damn about your global rating - what they are interested in is bums on seats and bar till takings right here!
The current RPK default on global actually works against our efforts to procure gigs and build a following. We NEED to be able to show our local and national rating in order to use the RPK as an EFFECTIVE marketing tool!
I do not believe for 1 second that this would be difficult to organise. Come on Reverbnation - MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!! -

As a Musician/Web Developer it has always perplexed me as to why the global rank which is meaningless to a venue, is default for the RPK instead of having the ability to choose local or national ranking.
-
It would be great to be able to see how other bands are ranked locally and globally right from their page too.

2That's an excellent suggestion. It's not currently possible, but I will make sure it gets on our feature-suggestion list. -

I think we should also be able to post this as a widget, for example on a website. And also there should be a way of skipping up to number one in a category, it takes forever to see if you start at, say, 6000.

Moving up this ladder is strictly fan based. The Gena Roberts fan club moved Gena up to #1 in our region in a matter of hours by visitng and playing her music on REeverbnation. Just have to get the fan out and get them to do the work. That's why you have a fan club. Start by asking them on your facebook page to go to Reverbnation and listen to your music. Build you fan club with the fan reach pro and watch your position change. Bennye St.Claire - Texas Universal Management and Records

NEAL, I think you missed the point that National Rank is #9 and Local is at #32. I informed you guys that your system was on the fritz over a month ago with no reply. I (Lee) am a very experienced developer for Fortune 500s as well as small business. As I pointed out then, your Myspace is very off and incorrect in it's reporting of stats. If you get more than ten new friends of which we were getting 100s before I abandoned my efforts with your site, the next day it reports -1 to -10. You also never responded to my emails or posts. FYI my office is in Durham

I do not see a Young Dee Money on our site, can you please include a link to the profile in question? Additionally please forward any links to threads in which you did not receive a response, or any emails to support(at)reverbnation(dot)com which you did not receive a response too.

Being able to post that number in the RPK would give a lot more weight to the RPK and would allow agents and otheres looking to book the act some sort of indication of what the act does in the local area. It is a good measure of what your fan clubs are doing.

Bad idea - wouldn't trust Reverb Stats as far as I could throw them - today I'm showing fr yesterday 0 Widget hits, yet 96 are listed and 0 plays yet 21 are shown.
+ I note that Myspace claim Reverb is responsible for their Stats area - and we all know that Myspace stats are such a waste of time as they are often at least a week out of date.
I now only use the Stats I trust based on hits on my Web Site / Blogs.
It's a pity but the Reberb stats use to be useful and mean something.-
ROFL at this WHOLE THING. OK for those that think that the numbers count, they don't! What counts is who is playing your music, when and from WHERE, by this I mean, Myspace and Facebook are NOT counted correctly on Reverb. MosAiK USA has been on Reverbnation for over a yr now. IF you want to know your REAL National count, that is impossible to know unless you keep an eye on the Billboard. As for Reverbnation, they have delevoped tools, keyword TOOLS to get your music out. When you see the ranks, that is ONLY among Reverbnation artists, fans, ect. IT does not go to the mass media unless you or your fans place widgets to other sites. Such as Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, ect. That said, Myspace plays do not count UNLESS you rip the Myspace player out and replace it with a Reverb one, this can be done. Google it. Also, Facebook is NOT set up for flash, so when you post a player, the fan or friend HAS to click the player to play your songs and then it will show as a Widget hit. The ONLY way to get anyone to listen to your music off Reverbnations site is currently the Widget! LIKE I said these are TOOLS to get your fans to listen. The stats are only intended for counting the use of Reverbnation Tools.
Reverbnation has implemented a Web Site builder, which you can build to track fans. Keep in mind, they have to go to that site and play a song, so whatever song you list first on autoplay is going to get the most counts.
Reverb has great tools to use and I like that I can post from Reverb to other sites without having to change over to those platforms.
IF you really want to know where you stand on your music? The only true way is how many CD's, MP3's and ticket sales do you have? That is the true way to count! =D Sorry folks but those that use the stats on Reverbnation to count their stats as a band or artist? Your waisting energy as you are ONLY competing with other reverbnation artists and bands. PERIOD. -

Shouldn't be at least an option for the artist to choose whether he wants to have local National or Global rankings?

2Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your continued interest in this feature. I understand it has been some time. However, we do receive hundreds of suggestions for our site every week. We have over 1.2 million bands on the site, and it is very hard, and sometimes not possible to implement everyone's idea.
This idea has been added to the top priority of RPK suggestions, and sent to the direct development team that would be responsible for it. I'm sorry I can not offer more direct answers at this time, but everyone should realize that:
1. You have been heard
2. We are aware of the suggestion
3. It is one of the top, if not THE top, suggestion to improve the RPK feature
4. The development team is aware that it is of high priority for you
Thanks,

Thank you Neal - I understand that you are constrained by company policy. I am somewhat mollified, as I'm sure my fellow artists are also, to learn that you have managed to prioritize the importance of this issue. It's successful implementation will turn the RN rpk into a genuinely useful tool for those of us outside the United States where the LOCAL ratings are ALL important.
I stress again the urgency required - if RN wants to retain the support of ourselves and other bands internationally - we all MUST be able to market our services locally. It's ALL about bums on seats for bands at our level! -
-
Sorry Neal....but I think SpiritRiders got the right spirit!!...lol

I have to agree with the SpiritRiders... Clubs care about your local draw not your global rank. I am in 100% support of this idea. I use to use the RPK on Reverb but discontinued it for this very reason. If things change I'll be back!

First up - thanks to all of you who have shown support for this great idea - if more of you add your voice it can only help RN to get their finger out on this issue.
Our RPK trial is up in a few days and we will NOT be continuing with it because of this issue!
If RN wants to earn income from us - the least they can do is offer the features we require - if they don't - we will go elsewhere!
