Google Calendar Sync with Reverbnation . . . is it Possible?!
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to sync the reverbnation show schedule calendar with my google calendar so that all of my dates i enter in work with my droid. I've tried to export the CSV file through the RN site and when I import to Google Calendar I get the message "Failed to import events: Unable to process your iCal/CSV file.." Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately we do not have a sync with Google Calendar at this time. I will make sure to list this as an idea so that it will be seen by our developers as a suggestion.

This would be huge... entering things multiple times is a pain. I know a lot of venues use Google Calendar, so just brining over the booked shows would be fantastic!
-
-
Hey if it says "The Company implemented this idea." Does that mean it's done?
-
Sorry, I don't know how that happened. This idea is under consideration.

This would be huge if there was a sync between Reverbnation and Google. I love the Reverbnation interface and if it would magically update my Google calendar by just putting in my gmail user and password my life might sadly be complete.

I'm another fan of this idea. The RN gig calendar for me has been very cumbersome; having a theatre run that is a 3 week span and having to enter every single night takes up a lot more time than using Google's copy and paste. For that alone, Google Calendar has replaced my show widget; I'd like them to work in tangent.

I would love to see sync between artistdata and reverbnation as well.

Hi Matthew
Yes, but it's not available at this time. -

what about converting it to a csv for yahoo calendar or outlook and then uploading that calendar to google? would that work?

this is the response I get: Processed zero events.
Failed to import events: Unable to process your iCal/CSV file.. -

Ha, just did a google to see if anyone else already requested this, and sure enough I am not the first or only one. I really hope reverbnation syncs calendars soon... Google, facebook, Myspace, etc... been waiting a while for this to happen :(

As part of my larger research effort to figure all this stuff out: http://alexscammon.com/2011/03/artist...
I created a Yahoo! Pipe that creates an iCal from the ReverbNation RSS feed.
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.inf...
Click "More options" and grab the iCal link.
You could copy the pipe, change the url for the feed and use for your own purposes and then import the iCal into Google Calendar.
This isn't the solution that I ultimately ended up using, but it's one way of doing it that worked decently for me. Occasionally the iCal from the pipe wouldn't come up, and I couldn't figure out why -- possibly ReverbNation thinking Pipes was trying to DOS it? Not sure...
Anyway, see if it works for you.- view 4 more comments

So... As If, Could this solution work for automatic subscription so that my iCal will automatically import new shows added on Reverbnation?
-
-
Yes, you can add the iCal url to your Google Calendar, for example, and it should load the dates automatically.
As I said, it felt like it would work sometimes and not others. I would flip between Pipes V1 and V2 and it would start working so I believe Reverbnation might be blocking Yahoo!'s servers after a certain number of requests. Switching to V2 servers made things work for a little time and then it would be blocked again. However, this is just a theory.
Let me know if it works reliably for you.
btw., I put some steps and discussion on this approach here:

Wow! Glad to see I am not the only one trying to see if this is an option! Reverb and Google calendar sync would be HUGE!
-
-
I'm another big fan of this idea. Syncing between Google Calendar and Reverbnation not would make long engagements easier (it would, hugely), but it would be great time-saver altogether for calendar management and distribution.
-
-
Easy syncing between both Google Calendars and iCal is essential. It's nearly a deal breaker for the otherwise great features that reverbnation offers.
-
-
really hoping reverbnation figures this out soon. i love reverbnation, but i would trade a lot of current features to have this.

I'm with Echo. Fix this and I'd use it more than I do now. I don't think I have put gigs on it since last May. So much easier to use Google Calendar and find an app or plugin to grab it.

im up for it to. this would help put an end to people adding to the venue cal when its already listed in our google cal.
-
-
The handling of this issue will make or break reverbnation. Why the avoidance?
-
-
maybe their code monkeys don't have the know how to do this.

The syncing of calenders would be a massive relief for all independant artists and labels. We only want to enter it once not twice or 3 times...it must be possible. My reverbnation calender doesn ́t seem to work on my wordpress blog but Google calender does...But the RN calender looks cooler and my artists use it already so would make sense for that one to be synced out..

Ok my friends. Here's what I've found thus far. I now use ArtistData to sync all of my calendars. If you start a FREE account here it pushes out to tons of stuff including JamBase and Eventful both of which are sucked up by Reverbnation's calendar. so here's what you do. Add yourself to the "Jambase" base (takes about 1 minute) and just update Artist Data. You can then use the iCal feed and paste it into your Google calendar and ba da bing. Your Google Calendar remains updated. Any questions?

omg I ASSUMED google calendar would be importable.
Google calendar already allows embedding into html sites with customizeable size, etc. One can feature their google calendar in facebook for example. All we would need here is an input for a small html space.... -

I gave up on this. We use bandsintown for our calendar now and it feeds to reverbnation and the million other social networks. We also just started using onesheet.com ...everyone should check that out!

Hello! Yes - it would be super great if you guys could figure out a way to allow our Google Calendar populate our Reverbnation calendar. Yours is decent - but we manage our entire schedule via Google Cal, and it takes a long time to input information into your system. I would be willing to compromise some detail information in the RN profile in exchange for the ease of using Gcal to update everything. You can probably set up a sync via the Gcal RSS to a new RN widget... Pretty please? Thanks!

How frequently do we need to beg you to do this?
