Google Calendar Sync with Reverbnation . . . is it Possible?!
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to sync the reverbnation show schedule calendar with my google calendar so that all of my dates i enter in work with my droid. I've tried to export the CSV file through the RN site and when I import to Google Calendar I get the message "Failed to import events: Unable to process your iCal/CSV file.." Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi All-
Many of you have asked about a Show Schedule Sync feature. We heard your voices and spent some time trying to figure out a solution that would make your lives easier. I'm happy to report that it is now available.
Beginning today, you can easily and automatically get your ReverbNation shows on your Personal Calendar. Here's how:
1. We generate a URL for each artist that contains your unique ReverbNation show schedule as an ics. file. Learn more about .ics files here
2. Choose your preferred personal calendar service (we callout the most popular ones like Google, Outlook, Yahoo and iCal. But you can use your unique URL with almost any service)
3. Add your URL to your personal calendar with complete step-by-step instructions.
Once setup, your new shows and show edits on ReverbNation will be synced to your personal calendar without ever having to update it. Additionally, you can give your fans your ReverbNation Show Schedule URL so they always know when & where you're playing (and can set reminders in their preferred calendaring service!).
You can find this new feature in the Shows > Show Schedule area of your Dashboard. Click the "Sync Schedule" button. Or just click here
**Please note that this feature will not import shows from your personal calendar. We suggest keeping your ReverbNation Show Schedule up-to-date and using this feature - in combination with our dynamic HTML5 Show Schedule Widget and Upcoming Shows Facebook App - to populate your schedule everywhere else on the web.

4This would be huge... entering things multiple times is a pain. I know a lot of venues use Google Calendar, so just brining over the booked shows would be fantastic!

My use is slightly different being a venue, but have tried embracing Reverb Nation as overall, it's a pretty well thought out service. I use Google Cal for all my tentative and confirmed bookings. You can create a Facebook event from RN, so why not find a way to import Google Cal to make a RN and Facebook? Or even have RN be able to create a Google Cal entry? It's just so insanely time consuming having to enter things multiple times, in different formats, etc.Comment

If not having this feature prevents someone from using the site, I greatly apologize for that. That stinks. I agree with you. However, for a complete all out sync, we don't have the option to build that into the site at this time. I'm not sure what else I can say about it. I can tell you we hope to have an individual show export option in the near future. I can also provide a workaround that will convert an RSS feed (publicly available in each users Show Schedule page) to iCal - which can then easily be imported into Outlook, iCal, Google Calendar and more.

Beyond that, this thread will be monitored, but I will only be posting updates to any of the above, or the overall issue, which I have made sure development is aware of.

2Because the format of the exported Revernation CSV file is not correct for Google Calendar I was having to manage two separate CSV databases for uploading to these sites.
I have not yet closed my Reverbnation account, but I gave up on its calendar long ago because of this issue. I play 200 gigs a year and this sole issue about syncing has made Reverbnation useless and irrelevant to me.
Now, knowing that no fix is coming, I might as well close my account. -

2I probably explained this many moons ago but here's my deal...
I've got a Mac, iPhone, iPad etc... and iCloud (but you can do this with ANY setup I'm sure). I can enter a date on my iPhone (or ANY device) and it gets pushed everywhere (including my home computer and Google Calendar). I enter ONCE and update everything including the embedded Google Calendar on my website and everything is always current.
It's perfect.
All I need RN to do is READ my Google Calendar feed and populate its calendar with the values... it's not rocket science. MANY other apps and sites can READ a Google Calendar. It has nothing at all to do with entering my gigs on RN and writing it out to Google Calendar or anywhere else.
Parsing a feed... so simple.
However I understand that it is now moot and won't comment further. -

Wow I really do love this idea as well! This is great! I would also love it if Reverbnation could Read my Google calendar! You are correct Rob. Google's system is a great one indeed, As long as your calendar is public adding it to your RN would be easy and with other artist doing the same would allow for easier collaborations etc. Imagine being able to fan someone and add their calendar so you never miss a thing! Our local public school system here in nowhereville has a Google calendar that I can add to my calendar! You are right this isn't rocket science! -LB- -

As allowing our RN calendar to be synced using Google Calendar's feed is now not being considered at all, it really does mean that there is no reason to keep an RN account open.
It is extremely easy to read the data that Google Calendar supplies in either ical, or xml and then parse that data into another format. It is unfortunate that RN is refusing to consider allowing this. -

I posted over 3 years ago on this and have been following ever since with every response hoping to see the one I read today. I have done this and it works great on Google and iCal. You have just made my life more in sync and I can't thank you enough for this update! Thank You!
