The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy

"We'll let them know how many people you've told"

Hi there. I wanted to offer some constructive criticism about the new thing about "we'll let them know how many people you've told - can't hurt your chances!" I personally do not like this, and everyone I speak to who is on RN does not like it. The reason being twofold: 1) it causes too much spam to go to our facebook fans (already a problem with the amount of stuff most bands want to get out there) and 2) since the mathematical chances of getting accepted to any single opportunity are low due to high competition, you are asking bands to post lots of stuff about gigs that they likely will end up not getting. That just makes the bands look bad to folks who don't realize how much competition there is for these things. I would strongly suggest that you reconsider this "feature." I think it's enough that bands are liking these companies facebook pages. Just my opinion, but a worthy one I think.

    Hello!

Thank you for the feedback and ideas concerning our promotions and Opportunity section of ReverbNation.

The opportunities are optional and can be used as each artist sees fit. The free opportunities are often much more competitive with many more bands entering and competing.

I will certainly pass this along to our developer and promoter team for consideration.

Thanks again for the feedback and please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions, issues or ideas!
